What’s Wrong with Ground Beef? For One Thing, Bacteria
Consumer Reports tested over 450 pounds of ground beef from 300 different packages and found it teeming with various kinds of bacteria. The report covers several bacteria strains, including E. coli and super-bugs that resist antibiotics. Cooking kills most of the bacteria, but cross-contamination in the kitchen during preparation and under-cooking hamburgers for people who like their meat rare introduce risks. See full article.
