February @ Cinema Bioscoop

Hoi Bioscoopers,

We hope 2017 is presenting itself as an extraordinary year for you, because it is definitely turning out to be for Cinema Bioscoop! This month we have exciting news about our latest events and we could not wait any longer: we want to share everything with our dear Bioscoopers!

It is with great pleasure (and happiness!) that we announce that the short animation film "Bingo!" by
Patrick Schoenmaker
will be screened on the tomorrow's session of our partner The Filmbunch London! We can assure you that despite being precisely 2 minutes and 40 seconds long, it will make you laugh so hard that you will eventually will cry. So, if you're in London at the moment, don't waste this unique opportunity! If you cannot watch it there, you will have another chance to watch it in Vila Real, Portugal. Scroll down for more information.

You still haven't had time to go to one of this monthly sessions in Lantaren Venster? Then, we're sorry but you're missing out a lot! BUT the good news is that the next session is almost here! On the next Tuesday, the 14th the session will start at 19:45 and you can count with the presence of the special guest Ineke Houtman! And by the way, the Rotterdams Open Doek festival will start on the 19th of May, you can now put it on your agenda!

By the end of the month, the Cinema Bioscoop team will be traveling to Portugal, and we cannot wait for it! We will have two screening sessions in one week, and indeed it is a very special moment for our company since Portugal was the country where Cinema Bioscoop was founded.
The first screening will take place on the 21st in
Shortcutz Vila Real, and the second one in Shortcutz Lisbon on the 28th! If you are in Portugal at that time, feel free to join us. We will bring the stroopwafels! Here are some of the short films that will be screened:

Are you a #foreveralone person? Don't worry! As the Valentine's Day is coming up, here's a way of making that day go faster: watch this beautiful short film about Bert and his love app for his cellphone.
PS: If you actually have a date on that day, then you can ignore this section of the newsletter ;)

If you heard the rumors already, yes it's true! Since the last subtitle workshop in Brussels was such a success, we decided to organize another one, but this time in London! It will take place on the 23rd of March in special collaboration with ALCS and UCL
If you have a Dutch language short film that you would like see subtitled in English, please let us know by sending an email to, we are very interested!
