Join us at Custom Lane on Sunday 4th March from 5 - 9pm for an evening of lively discussion, guest speakers, creative demos, networking opportunities and some delicious food and drink as we share our future plans and opportunities for you to get involved with Slow Food Youth Network in Scotland and the wider network across the world!

We’re delighted to be joined as guest speaker by artist Morven Odling, the brain behind ‘Fork in the Road’, a creative research project in collaboration with Edinburgh Tool Library which explores the relationships between community and food. Mo will be sharing her inspiration behind the project, the role of open design and how you can get involved in using the bike.

We will be holding a ‘Kitchen Table Conversation’ as part of Nourish and the Scottish Food Coalition's consultation for community views on the upcoming Good Food Nation bill. This will be a great opportunity for you to provide your ideas for how to ensure Scotland has the sustainable food future we deserve.

We’re very happy for participants to bring any promo materials they’d like to share with attendees and can provide wall space upon request.
This will also be your first opportunity to register interest in joining us on a road-trip to Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2018 as part of the SFYN Scotland delegation AND be the first to sign up to our new digital platform aimed at showcasing the talent and diversity of Scotland’s young food leaders.

Refreshments will be provided on a PAYF basis from young food entrepreneur Fiona Donaldson of new social enterprise Prep Table. Fi will be using food waste from Fareshare and Food-Sharing, who will also be sharing news about their Zero Waste Town project during the event. 

We will also have available on donation some homemade elderflower wine and beer from the lovely guys at Campervan Brewery, who brew just around the corner from the venue! (We are also looking into collaborating on an event together with them soon... but more about that on the night!)

AND we'll have a Raffle including some food related prizes from local producers and businesses with all money raised going towards enabling a diverse delegation of young food leaders from across Scotland are able to attend Terra Madre 2018.

World Disco Soup Day is back on 28th April 2018!

We invite you to join World Disco Soup Day 2018 - A global culinary and musical act of protest which aims to unite people against food waste across the planet. 

This year we want to break our record of more than 100 Disco Soups, in over 40 countries so we urge you to get involved in our events or in hosting your own. This day is a truly unique event to be part of with our whole network working together on the same day, making both a local & global impact!

So far this year we are planning a large party at the CCA (& secret venue!) in Glasgow, whilst supporting Food-sharing & Tasting Change in hosting an event in Wester Hailes, Edinburgh - details for both TBA in our next newsletter!

Why are we doing this? Because, while parts of the world population suffer from hunger, one third of the food intended for human consumption is being thrown away every year. We all care about this huge problem and it's time we give it the attention it deserves.
