Paint Detroit with Generosity  fundraiser launches

Thanks to Mint Artist Maddie Teece for the hand lettered signs!

Our fundraiser needs you

Mint has an ambitious goal - to raise $13,500 for its first summer program that will develop creative jobs for Detroit teens - and a very generous mindset. We want to give away 25 paintings to local nonprofit, buy made-in-Detroit easels plus pay for our start up costs and the 501c3 status from this one campaign.
So we need plenty of donors; and the first seven who give $313 will receive a small Mint painting. We are on Crowdrise through mid May.  So please give and then ask friends to donate.  Go beyond a few social media posts to bring in contributions! Thank you.
Mint Artists co-founder Vickie Elmer will speak, briefly, at the Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers on Friday evening. Mint Artist Damon Thomas Chamblis also will pitch Mint, as our teen art entrepreneurial program will be featured during intermission. Secret Society is a Mint charity partner, so please buy a ticket and join us!
This is one of many shareable posts for our 'win, win, win fundraiser' to 'paint Detroit with generosity." Others pop up on our social media regularly!
Please donate today!

Teen artists inspired by Detroit gallery visit

About 14 Mint artists visited Galerie Camille in midtown Detroit for our April workshop. It covered copyright and promoting creative work. The gallery's walls were covered with a new show Echoes featuring Paula Schubatis, our guest artist. The teens were very impressed with the gallery and huge studio behind it.  We love taking creative teens to creative spaces in Detroit - and they love it too.
TEEN SUCCESS
Mint board member and teen artist Espacia Fotiu now is part of the Live Coal Gallery collective of artists. She was recommended by Vickie Elmer for her creative work and engaged approach. Her work also is on display at Om Cafe in Ferndale. Congratulations, Cia!

A Note From Our Executive Director

Mint Artists Guild is still a baby organization, not even crawling, and yet we are dreaming big. We want to hire dozens of artists and run our own gallery for "fresh art from Detroit teens." We want artists to thrive and be generous, and we want to empower youth to achieve greatness in Detroit. Help us be doers and dreamers. Please, donate today
Thank you,
— Vickie Elmer
