When I learned that I am assigned in Zambia, I have told to myself that I should prepare the phase of adjustment, at least in my personal perspectives, i call it culture shock. I have accepted that in this natural and have-to-go-through phase of being shocked might de-rail me in doing my role as HFC assistant. Though it happens sometimes I’m still grateful and consider myself as a Zambian citizen and Kalomo being my second home.

Working with HFC coordinators, children and conversations with my supervisor allowed me to learn stories, lifestyle and culture of the HFC scholars and Zambia as a whole. By learning these, I become aware that Growing in Spiritual and Social Holiness is not a theory anymore but a core value that one can truly experience.
Engaging in local community also helped me to Grow. I am particularly focused in youths and programs of the PWC. But the people of PWC contribute to my growth and engagement as a missionary. Just by simply shaking my hands, bilingual greetings, and the similarity of food from home, my first speaking engagement, my first youth class lecture, eating by hands and most importantly the dances and music we share on Sunday services are the experiences I cherish and find important in engaging and growing  as a missionary and as an individual.
