Hello there!

Welcome to Mthree Alumni’s Newsletter

2015 has been an exciting and prosperous year for the Mthree Alumni team and 2016 has been no exception so far! A lot has happened during a short period of time and Q1 has been a pretty busy few months for us all. From a business perspective, we have been extremely active in the UK market as well as expanding our presence to the US, Hong Kong and Singapore. We have also been very pleased to see that we have had a great number of graduates interested in our programme, with over 300 graduates applying after meeting with us on the careers fairs. From a social perspective, we and our Associates on the Alumni programme have enjoyed some entertaining social events we’ve had to offer for this quarter.
Happy to announce that we’ve moved

Mthree consulting have moved from One Canada Square to our brand new offices at Harbour Exchange. Due to the aggressive growth period Mthree consulting have experienced over the past year, we are able derive the benefits associated with this expansion.

Our new luxurious and spacious offices are equipped with state of the art facilities, including a generously sized boardroom, which is equipped to train a large group of graduates simultaneously. Also included from a more entertaining viewpoint, is a break-out area kitted out with a pool table, SEGA racing car game as well as a 50” smart plasma TV – which both we and our Alumni Associates enjoy from time to time.

A Few Little Changes

An exciting time for the London base office has also resulted in a few new changes and faces around the office. At our London based office Maja Zuza has taken on her new title as Head of Alumni Delivery for the Mthree Alumni programme. Maja is responsible for our events management, execution of University targeting and on-campus recruitment strategies as well as managing the delivery side.

Our new Delivery Consultant, Alex Knight has been brought on board to help with the increasing demands around the office. Alex recently graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London after completing his degree in Business Management with Marketing and is now connecting with graduates from various universities.

MThree Alumni has also diversified this quarter with the inception of the Alumni Apprenticeship scheme which is governed by Sam Havis, another new face in the office. The Alumni Apprenticeship is an exciting alternative to attending University. Mthree Apprenticeship offers students to work onsite within financial services, integrating into an operations team over three years. Apprentices will receive extensive training and the opportunity to end the programme with a full bachelor’s degree.

The US office has not been any different in terms of growth and changes. After the recent success of the Mthree Alumni programme in the previous year, Matthew Fotheringham is now based in the states where he is driving the Alumni programme on Wall Street, New York. It has been a very successful start for the Mthree Alumni Programme in the US, we have seen a vast interest in the programme and our first US Associates will already be joining the scheme next month.
Mthree Alumni Events

Welcome Event

As part of our monthly #Alumnilife initiative, we kicked off 2016 with a welcome party held at our brand new offices in Harbour Exchange, where we invited all of the Associates on the programme to let their hair down for the evening and enjoy some drinks, food and entertainment.

Included as part of the event was a visit from the magician Richard Jones, of the prestigious magic circle. He represents the very best in cutting edge magic, mind-reading and psychological illusion and has even performed at Buckingham Palace! Needless to say, there were some very bewildered faces at the event.

Along with some pool and racing car tournaments, the Associates also enjoyed some quirkier amusement having their portraits sketched by caricaturist Rick Coleman. The event was a great way for existing and new Associates on the programme to network as well as have some fun.

Charity Quiz Night

As well as our traditional monthly social events, Mthree Alumni endeavour to give back when possible and to make a change to people’s lives who need it most. We believe that helping others and giving back is important, which is why we organise events to help support our two chosen charities – MacMillan Cancer Support and Alzheimer’s Society.

The charity quiz night was a great opportunity for our Associates and us to showcase our knowledge, participate in a raffle and get the chance to win lots of cool prizes. Not only was it a good bit of fun and a great chance to spend some time with colleagues, but we also managed to raise £500!
Careers Fair
The Mthree Alumni team have been busy visiting careers fairs at Southampton. It was a valuable experience to get to discuss career options with future graduates who aspire to break into financial services. The career fairs proved to be a huge success and the Alumni team managed to sign up over 300 students who were interested in exploring some of the opportunities that we have to offer on our programme. We will be attending more careers fairs during the next quarter – so keep an eye out for our next visits!
Assessment Days

This quarter marked Mthree Alumni’s first ever assessment days held at our offices. We had more than 400 initial applicants that were carefully selected and invited to attend our assessment day. We met some very bright and talented individuals and out of those chosen ones, half of them were offered a placement on our programme with fantastic jobs working for a major investment bank in London. Due to the success of the two days in London, Mthree Alumni decided to expand the concept internationally, which resulted in us having some very successful assessment days over in New York as well.
Advice from our Alumni Associates
We have asked some of our Alumni Associates what advice they would give other graduates who are interested in our Alumni programme. These are some of the experiences that our Associates have shared:

“Go for it, you have nothing to lose and the rewards are definitely worth the effort”
 – Anika Abedin, Production Support

“Although I’ve only been a part of the Alumni scheme for 2 weeks, I’ve seen more than enough to know that I will take away valuable skills and enjoy my time here. If you’re reading this now you’re probably interested in applying, so I’d say apply, prepare really hard and you won’t regret what comes next. Best of luck!”
– Dillan Patel, Production Support

“Be prepared to learn. You don’t need previous knowledge of the financial industry or computer science (although one or the other is preferable!), if you display an aptitude for the work.”
 – Alex Heatherington, Developer

“Joining the Alumni scheme has been everything I expected and more, constant opportunities to learn new skills and rewards for working hard.”
–  Kelvin Moritiwon, Business Analyst
