CAASPP Crunch

Dear Parents and families:
As we enter springtime, our students will begin practicing for the state tests in a month.  That means our 3rd-8th graders and 10th-11th graders will be taking the mandatory assessments.  New this year will be the pilot testing of the 5th, 8th and 10th grade science test (CAST). To create a positive environment, our students will be practicing with test questions that are similar to what they will see.  Since all the tests are taken on the Chromebooks, students need to practice manipulating the tools and navigating the website.  This will help increase their confidence as they show what they know.  Please make sure you are assisting your student in doing any assignments that are given for home study.

Soaring to Success,
Beverly Voechting

Priority Program Transfers:  If you are planning on changing programs next year, for example, Magnolia to FAPA, please read this important information.  If NO CHANGES for next year, please disregard.

The date for currently enrolled families to have priority in transferring their student(s) to a different program for the 17/18 school year is March 22, 2017.  Families that submit transfer requests prior to that day will receive priority into the requested program over newly enrolling students. Requests submitted after that date will no longer receive the same priority status.  After March 23rd, our  intake department will start “filling seats” in all programs until capacity is reached. They will start with those currently enrolled students who have requested a program change prior to March 23rd.  After those students are placed into their requested programs, we will start placing new applicant students.

Applications for the 17/18 school year will be processed starting on February 28th 2017.  Programs will be filling up quickly.

Parents wishing to transfer their student(s) or who may have additional questions should call the Pupil Services office at (951) 252-8833. Transfer requests can only be accepted from the custodial parent/guardian(s) listed in OASIS. Please be advised,  all families that wish to transfer must still sign a student agreement with their current program.
