Our mission is to promote, maintain, and enhance Oakland's wildland parks and trails.
November 22, 2016
With clear, cool weather forecasted for Thanksgiving Day, we've decided to lead a free hiking tour in Oakland's wildland trail system. Join us for a 5.5-mile Turkey Day hike from Dimond Park up to the Bay Area Ridge Trail, where we'll catch a bus back down to Dimond (bring AC Transit bus fare: $2.10). For all the details and to register, CLICK HERE.
Help us protect Oakland's redwoods
Oakland Trails volunteers are teaming up with the Friends of Sausal Creek to protect the redwoods along Fern Ravine Trail in Joaquin Miller Park. Together, we will extend the rustic, split rail fence so that the redwood understory can thrive. Please CLICK HERE if you can help with a tax deductible contribution. Our fundraising goal is $750. The work will be performed by volunteers; funds will be used for materials only.
