Wow! We are a little over half way to meeting our $15,000.00 fundraising goal, with one week to go!
Bidding ends August 15th at 7:00 p.m.
Thanks to all who have registered and are actively bidding but we have a long way to go!
We need your help! Most of you are familiar with the 5 properties that we manage and protect especially Barnum Creek Nature Reserve and Dahl Forest but:
Did you know: that since 2017 the Haliburton Highlands Land Trust and Ontario Nature have evaluated and protected 3,100 ha of wetland in the Highlands Corridor (Lochlin, Kendrick Creek, Milburn and Bark Creek wetland complexes). Approved by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry as Provincially Significant, these wetlands now receive the highest level of protection.
Wetland protection is a primary focus of HHLT research as a means to mitigate the effects of climate change on our county.
This is just one area of our research focus. We are making a difference and attracting a lot of attention for our work and your support through bidding or making a donation will help to ensure we can continue this important work.
So, please register for our auction to bid on one or more of our many wonderful items, or if nothing “tickles your fancy” just hit the donate button and make a donation and receive a charitable tax receipt in the amount of your donation.
We would like to thank all of our auction donors, our “Pay-It-Forward Sponsors” and our members for your continued support.
To register for bidding or to donate go to our website at www.haliburtonlandtrust.ca and click on the link to the auction site.
Good luck to those of you who are bidding and remember, bid often, bid high and have fun! Mary-Lou Gerstl, HHLT Director, Fundraising Chair.
p.s. You can always mail your donation by cheque to HHLT, 739 Mountain Street, P.O. Box 1478 Haliburton, Ontario K0M 1S0. Mark “fundraiser” on the cheque so that we can be sure to apply it to this campaign.
