Platinum Frequent Flyer Pack from Qantas

Hello travellers.

I'm planning on having a week in Sydney this coming week with no travel.
I have quite a bit of work on, which will keep me tied to my desk most of the time.
Other than that, I hope to have a few hours to catch up on some trip, flight and hotel reports for your edification.

Did I mention that I am now a Qantas Platinum Frequent Flyer?

Oh, and I plan to write about my first few weeks experience as a Platinum Frequent Flyer. Kind of an un-official guide.

What happened last week?

I had a quick trip to Adelaide to catch up with my family and friends. On the airline front, It's all about Qantas. Qantas and American Airlines got tentative approval for their joint venture on Australia / USA routes and announced the first of the promised 'new routes' under the agreement would be Brisbane to Chicago. I'll wait to see if/when that happens. Qantas also announced that it is prepared to abandon the Sunrise Project entirely if the economics don't stack up, and even if it does go ahead, they won't be putting economy sleeping berths in the cargo hold. Surprise! Surprise!

Catch up on last weeks posts below. Until next week . . .

Happy Travels,
2PAXfly

This is not the first time the two airlines have applied for such an arrangement. Why a Joint-Venture? A joint-venture between airlines is the highest form of a commercial relationship. Like […]

Qantas Sunrise Project – abandoned?

By 2paxfly on Jun 05, 2019 08:30 am

All hype, no follow through Qantas and Mr Joyce sure have been getting some mileage out of Project Sunrise – the idea of running non-stop flights between the east coast of Australia and the mid-west and east coast of the USA, or London, Paris and other European ports. That would mean 20 odd hours on […]

First Impressions: QT Hotel Perth – Where is the desk?

By 2paxfly on Jun 03, 2019 08:45 am

A desk! A desk! My kingdom for a desk! OK, to me a hotel room has to have three essential things: a bed – ✓ a bathroom – ✓ a desk – ‎❌ Can you believe it? No desk in the room, and what’s worse – no business centre. I ended up having to spend […]
