The release consists of two songs which are seemingly quite different from each other, but that are tied together by their common use of huge synths, ringing guitars, reverb, and melancholia.
Wires is a bleak, repetitive piece, which paints the picture of a world where almost all hope is lost. Meanwhile, No Friends but the Mountains is a floating, dreamy sounding song, which partly draws inspiration from the Kurdish struggle for autonomy.
