Lead Me Astray
Out now!

D4RKSTAR - Lead Me Astray

Lead Me Astray is a brand-new song by D4RKSTAR, the indie/electronic musical project of Gothenburg musician Andreas Lindh. Along with the original version we are also given 5 remixes – 4 of the title track and 1 of Revol. Both tunes from upcoming EP; scheduled for release this summer.

The 2021 sonic imprint of D4RKSTAR refines the electronica shoegaze combo with a slightly more arena-esque varnish. Still delivered in the artist's established cross-fertilization of catchiness, darkness, and desperation.

The remixers

Producer, DJ, mixer, and mastering engineer – John-Peter Andersson, aka JPGA, has gained quite some musical skills during his 30 years in professional music production. John-Peter has been involved in several productions of well-known artists and labels. His remix moves the whole scene of Lead Me Astray; from epic indietronica to a loungey groove experience. – Pour the cocktails!

Moist is the electronica producer, artist, remixer, and I/O Music label manager David Elfström Lilja. He started playing the drums at the age of 4 and bought his first synthesizer, a Roland SH-101, as a teenager in 1984. His take on Lead Me Astray presents a scaled-down, yet intense, version – seasoned with these Reznor style piano licks that we all love.

Sister Electra is the electronica project of musician/producer Stefan Eriksson, whose own musical roots were originally within punk and heavy metal genres. It was in the late eighties he was drawn towards the electronic music scene. While Sister Electra remixes generally are old-school electronica; this treatment of Revol takes us back to the golden era of the Bristol trip-hop scene.

Lønnkrog is a solo project directed by Micke Lönngren, lead singer in Swedish gothic rock band Brotherhood. Lønnkrog loves the sound of the 808, vintage synthesizers and massive amounts of echo. His remix totally hijacks Lead Me Astray and puts it in his own distinct and wonderful musical universe. This is #folkhemssynth for the masses!

Louise Marchione is often associated with electronic sounding acts like Thermostatic and Planet R – but also indie ones like e.g. Light Parade and Fenix. Her approach to Lead Me Astray is to emphasize the sentiment of the vocals with sparse electronic instrumentation, additional vocal harmonies, and haunted vocoder lines.
