What's New?

As the next FSAE competition in Michigan nears, the team has been making steady progress on OG17. We have doubled the horsepower and torque from our engine and are sending straight into to a brand new Drexler limited slip differential. The driver’s inputs are being completely reworked, with a new composite steering wheel and a 163 part pedal box replacing the old units. Our engine has almost been completely mounted in the chassis, and the firewall is being fabricated. The final assembly will take place when we move back into our previous location in the STAR (Survive, Thrive, and Applied Research) building. By the end of February, the team will have a rolling chassis and be on course for completion.

This past January the management team organized our third annual team-building event. A bus picked up the team from campus and drove them all the way up for skiing at Big White ski resort. Afterwards dinner was devoured at Snowshoe Sam’s in the village. Many laughs were had and it was good to bring the entire team together – a rare opportunity with a student’s busy schedule! Later this February the team will be participating for our second time in Go-Eng Girl; this event promotes and encourages engineering to female high school students. In March, the team will be hosting our second annual fundraiser that raised $2500 last year.

Sponsor of the month

Agile Industries have made a huge contribution to the team by 3D printing our intake for us. This allows us to create a perfectly shaped intake that is tuned exactly for our engine. We cannot thank them enough for this, and are happy that they have decided join us this year.
