A Letter From The CEO

It gives me great pleasure to write to you and introduce myself. I am the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer at MINTRAC. Jenny Kroonstuiver has handed over the reigns to me after many years leading the organisation.

I hail from outside of the Meat Industry, having led global organisations in the Professional Services, Not for profit (NFP), Utilities and outsourcing sectors to name a few. Typically, I have managed human capital and training functions so whilst I am a new entrant into the meat industry, I am no stranger to training and advisory services delivery.

My letter to you today is to ensure that you have received news of the MINTRAC National Training Conference for 2020 to be held  6 and 7 May 2020 in Adelaide. We had previously promoted the event to be delivered in March but have rescheduled the dates.
Whilst the entire conference program will provide necessary insights into training and broader issues facing the industry, there are some notable inclusions that you should not miss.
  • Anna Neelagama from the Red Meat Advisory Council will be sharing how she intends to unlock value and growth in the sector by 2030.
  • Another one of our Key Notes will be delivered by Matthew Dale from Audit Express. Matthew will explore the implications of the Australian Qualifications Framework Review, and discuss the growth and transition towards Microcredentialling.
  • The Joyce Report has shed light on many opportunities within the VET sector and we are fortunate to have Michael Hartman, CEO of Skills Impact discussing how the report recommendations can be implemented.
In addition to industry leading speakers, our Conference format includes break out sessions where you can select from a number of streams involving learning workshops and expert panel discussions. One of these workshops will be looking at the industry training package and emerging issues. MINTRAC senior project leaders will also take to the stage to update you on current and pipeline projects that we are involved with.

Our Conference dinner will be held on the evening of the 6 May at the completion of Day 1 of the event. MINTRAC dinners are well known for great networking, outstanding food and entertainment. During the night, we will announce and celebrate the winners of the MINTRAC National Training Awards for 2020.

Nominations for the Awards are currently open and will close on 9 April 2020. Our Awards are industry recognised and I’d encourage you to self-nominate for these prestigious awards.

As an added incentive MINTRAC is offering one lucky attendee the chance to have their full registration and dinner costs refunded.
