A celebrated violin player, Karin, has to end her stellar career after a car accident makes her fingers unable to work their magic. She starts teaching students who are twenty years younger than her, only to find herself falling in love with one of them. They are not an easy match, both being passionate about the music and overly ambitious about their careers. The Violin Player is a romantic drama about giving up on your dreams and letting your ambitions lead you.

A MOMENT IN THE REEDS
NORDIC PREMIERE
Having moved to Paris for university, Leevi returns to his native Finland for the summer to help his estranged father renovate the family lake house so it can be sold. Tareq, a recent asylum seeker from Syria, has been hired to help with the work, and when Leevi’s father has to return to town on business, the two young men establish a connection and spend a few days discovering one another during the Finnish midsummer.

When the Kattilakoski family goes on a week-long summer vacation to a rented cottage, the local police constables Bigbelly and Stronglass are joyful. Finally one week of peace! When the truth comes out, the constables are forced to gisguise themselves to remain incognito. Unfortunately their alter egos, the artistic Rubens brothers, become an instant hit with Mother Kattilakoski. Hayflower and Quiltshoe have doubts about the Rubens from the start: they must be escaped bandits instead.
