Congratulations to Our
CPAP 2016 International Plein Air Challenge Winners!

The 2016 International Plein Air Challenge Exhibition is now in progress and will continue through November 15 at Gallery 206, American Tin Cannery Building, 125 Oceanview Boulevard in Pacivic Grove, California.
The exhibit was well received by the community and we received a chorus of positive reviews from the public-at-large as well as the Carmel Pine Cone and the Monterey Herald. We were one of the featured stops on the Monterey County Artists Open Studios Tour and a number of local schools and colleges have brought their students to see the event.
Don’t miss your chance to see the show. It’s located one block northwest of the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

New Signature Members

New CPAP Signature Members will be announced on November 15th.
Up to 20 new Signature Members will be selected from amongst the entries that have been received. We will also select up to three Out-of-State artists as new Signature Member Envoys.

New Signature Members will automatically be eligible for the Art of the West Magazine’s Awards of Excellence, Distinction and Merit along with the opportunity to exhibit and sell their artwork at our Signature Member Exhibit in Monterey, California.

Members News/Awards

Lisa Fricker, CPAP

is participating in three exhibits running through October: the American Impressionist Society’s 17th Annual held in Kirkland, WA at the Howard/Mandville Gallery, includes her painting, “Water Pistol Fractal". The 2016 Oil Painters of America Salon Show is currently on exhibit at Castle Gallery of Fine Art in Fort Wayne, IN, where she is showing “Fearless”. And at RJD Gallery in Sag Harbor, NY the latest in the series of Women Painting Women exhibits features sixteen invited artists. She is represented there by her oil, “Hard Won”.

Ellen Howard received Peoples Choice award

for her painting "Beach Play" at the Frank Bette Paint Out. This painting was created at the beach on Shoreline Drive in Alameda. She wanted to capture the last days of summer with a looser, carefree feel in her work.

Tatyana Fogarty was awarded a Gamblin Artist Oils Award of Distinction

at AIS 17th Annual National Juried Fine Art Exhibition 2016 for her painting “Safe Harbor”,oil, 16x20. Judge of Awards Calvin Liang AISM.


Umpqua Plein Air 2016: Anna Lancaster Received Best of Show

award for her Plein Air Painting “North Umpqua Morning Glimmer-Swift Water Park Glide, OR. Juror for the exhibition is Scott Gellatly, Artist and Product Manager for Gamblin Paints, Portland, OR, Umpqua Plein Air sponsored by the Umpqua Valley Arts Association. The Exhibition is September 17th – October 28th at the Umpqua Valley Arts Center 1624 Harvard Avenue Roseburg, OR 97471

Tonya Zenin was awarded Chesapeake Fine Art Studio Award of Merit

at 17th Annual AIS National Juried Exhibition for her painting “Morning Glare, Point Lobos”.

Linda Richichi, has been accepted into the Oil Painters of America.

She is most known for her
pastels and is a long time member of the Pastel Society of America. Her current work includes
plein air oil paintings.

Northern California Impressionism

From Field to Studio

October 30th - January 8th, 2017

Two CPAP members Ellen Howard and Tonya Zenin will be participating in the exhibition organized by Peninsula Museum of Art in Burlingame. A sweeping collection of landscapes by nineteen nationally known Bay Area artists is organized around the theme Field to Studio. The paintings celebrate the diversity found in Northern California's terrain: the vineyards of Napa and Sonoma, the Sierra Mountains and Foothills, Gold Country, Peninsula estuaries, and vistas of the Pacific Coast.
