Hi All!

Here’s your weekly dose of FIVER FRIDAY, a list of what I've found useful or informational this week concerning education.

CUE Conference takeaway #1--

Future Ready is big this year at the CUE Conference. Here is some good information about the initiative. Also, you can check out the PBVUSD Future Ready website here.

CUE Conference takeaway #2--

Jo Boaler is awesome. She was the keynote speaker yesterday, and her talk was great. If you're interested in learning more about her thoughts regarding math, then check this video out.

TED Talk I'm watching--

To Raise Brave Girls, Encourage Adventure by Caroline Paul.

Book I'm reading--

Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari. I'm attending a conference right now, but all I want to do is finish Sapiens. It's perfect for science and social studies teachers, but I think it can be of benefit for all educators. Also, it's extremely entertaining (something I wasn't expecting).

Quote I'm pondering--

“It's so hard to forget pain, but it's even harder to remember sweetness. We have no scar to show for happiness. We learn so little from peace.” ― Chuck Palahniuk, Diary
