Here’s your weekly dose of FIVER FRIDAY, a list of what I've found useful or informational this week concerning education.
Video I made--
Katrina Wilson and I made this video regarding the 2017 ELA/ELD Adoption Timeline for PBVUSD. Communication is key, and YouTube videos have been invaluable over the past two and a half years as I've attempted to communicate across a large school district.
Conference I'm attending--
The 2017 Spring CUE Conference is next week, so I'm hoping next week's Fiver Friday is full of helpful ideas for you!
Book I'm reading--
How Proust Can Change Your Life by Alain De Botton. In this short but helpful book, Botton does an excellent job showing how Proust's writing can teach us how to best live our lives. Many of Proust's lessons translate excellently for classroom teaching.
Post I'm reading--
Last week, it was determined the Amazon Web Service (AWS) outage was caused by human error. This caused many educational services to go down, including ThinkCentral. This reminds me of the importance of antifragility, as well as the idea behind this tweet.
Quote I'm pondering--
"Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is an absurd one."--Voltaire
