Hi All!

Here’s your weekly dose of FIVER FRIDAY, a list of what I've found useful or informational this week concerning education.

Blog I'm following--

Class Tech Tips by Monica Burns is an excellent resource for new technology programs. Since I have two young children at home (TK and 1st grade), this post caught my eye: 9 Ways to Get Every Student Tweeting... Even in Kindergarten!

Article I'm reading--

Students' Broken Moral Compasses: The pressures of national academic standards have pushed character education out of the classroom by Paul Barnwell

Book I'm reading--

The Art and Science of Teaching by Robert Marzano has been a good read to pair with John Hattie's work; especially regarding effect sizes.

Person I'm following--
In Evernote I keep a list of quotes, many of which I've gotten from Ryan Holiday's Twitter feed. If you like the "quote I'm pondering" portion of Fiver Fridays, and you have a Twitter account, then I highly recommend following Ryan.

Quote I'm pondering--

"(Roger) Gould says, 'When I read something, I absorb it, pulverize it, cut it up, use it here and there, so by the time I'm finished using it, it no longer exists in its original form.'"--Warren Bennis
