Hi All!

Here’s your weekly dose of FIVER FRIDAY, a list of what I've found useful or informational this week concerning education.

Helpful strategies--

Recently some colleagues and I visited Wasco Union High School to observe their instructional rounds and problem of practice. We left very impressed. If you're not familiar with problem of practice, this video is a good reference.

Purchase I'm enjoying--

I purchased an Apple Watch back in November, and I've really enjoyed it. Nevertheless, articles such as this one present evidence that doesn't support the belief that fitness devices are helpful for losing weight. Overall, I'd say wearable technology doesn't hurt, and there's a good possibility a device will improve one's activity. (This would be a very interesting article to read with students.)

Post I'm reading--

Why Paper Is the Real 'Killer App' by Alison Birrane

Taking notes--
An edtech leader in Kern County introduced me to the Bullet Journal. I haven't begun using it yet, but I'm interested in the possibilities.

Quote I'm pondering--

“Don’t believe everything you think.” - BJ Miller
