Here’s your weekly dose of FIVER FRIDAY, a list of what I've found useful or informational this week concerning education.
Edtech leader I'm following--
Sarah Camp is a C5 teacher who started sharing a "Techie Tuesday" newsletter with her staff every week. You can check the first out here!
Post I'm reading--
"What you eat makes a huge difference in how optimally your body operates. And what you spend time reading and learning equally affects how effectively your mind operates." You can read the rest here.
Basketball post I'm reading--
Practice makers perfect. Actually perfect practice makes perfect. I really like this post about the importance of fundamentals, practice, and mindset in basketball. Here's the first paragraph: "Ray Allen calls it 'an insult' when his shooting is labeled a God-given talent. 'God could care less whether I can shoot a jump shot,' Allen told The Boston Globe in 2008. Shooters aren’t born; they’re made through relentless work. But the best shooters also have core mechanisms — physically and mentally — that lead to success."
Ideas worth thinking about--
Kevin Kelly recently updated his famous post 1,000 True Fans. This is a great piece to read for building a following.
Quote I'm pondering--
“Success is peace of mind, which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to do your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming.”--John Wooden
