Hi All!

Here’s your weekly dose of FIVER FRIDAY, a list of what I've found useful or informational this week concerning education.

Podcast I'm listening to--

S-Town--from the makers of This American Life and Serial. I just finished the whole season last night. In my opinion, all good teachers are storytellers. The way this podcast pulls you into its narrative is breathtaking. When I listen to excellent podcasts such as S-Town, I'm reminded of how important it is to engage students through creative narrative building. Stories have taught people for millennia; it's a powerful strategy.

Book I'm reading--

Opening Doors to Equity by Tonya Ward Singer. I just started this (I'm still finishing up Sapiens), but I already like what I'm reading.

Post I'm reading--

Why Deep Work Matters in a Distracted World by Taylor Pipes.

Post I wrote--

30,000 feet and from the sideline. This is a synthesis of ideas regarding leadership from Bill Walsh, Michael Fullan, and Cal Newport.

Quote I'm pondering--

“Being right is not a strategy."--Michael Fullan, Indelible Leadership
