Weekly Focal Point
"Faith is not only daring to believe, it is also daring to act."

Faith Without Works is Dead

When we arrived at the jumping off point in our addiction, we had an opportunity to seek true Power in our lives. This process began with making a sincere decision to turn our will and our lives over to a Power greater than ourselves and to become willing to no longer run the show. This decision was followed up by the action outlined in the Big Book leading us to begin seeking spiritual direction. That becomes a new way of life for those who are willing to stay the course. Maintaining our faith certainly has trials of it's own. However, we can continue to grow in understanding and effectiveness by practicing principles in all our affairs. Our experience each day in recommitting to those principles and taking the necessary action steps is what grows our faith day by day. Each time we give away what has been so freely given to us, we are reminded of the fact that to be vital, faith must be accompanied by self sacrifice and unselfish, constructive action.
Questions for Our Consideration
1. Have I made the decision to let God run the show? Do my actions today support the decision that I made?

2. Am I making myself available to be useful towards others?

3. Is my relationship with my Higher Power growing or is it stagnant?
