In 2013, the Brazilian actress, influencer, blogger and activist, Tathiana Piancastelli was taking acting classes with Debora Balardini, Group .BR's executive director. During that time, Tathiana wrote a play called Apple of My Eye that was directed by Debora and produced by Nettles Artists Collective. As far as we can verify, it was the first play written and starred by an artist with Down syndrome. This groundbreaking play was presented in New York, Miami and at UNICEF.
We're thrilled to let you know that Group .BR will be bringing this production to life. We're now in pre-production for this show, and will let you know when we have more details. We are very happy to open space for this underrepresented and important voice. If you know of someone who would like to support this show send us an email at info@group.br.com
In the meantime check Tathiana's Instagram and know more about the play Apple of My Eye on our website.
