Voluntary Action Swindon 2016 AGM
This year’s AGM will take place at our offices in John St on Thursday, 24th November, 2016. A buffet lunch and networking opportunity will be available from 1 p.m., with the AGM itself starting at 2 p.m. We will send further information nearer the time, but please do put the date in your diaries.
After an unsettling year in 2015, the new Board of Trustees focused on stabilising the organisation, improving governance and ensuring that we were meeting the required outcomes for contracts that we held. We have made good progress on all these fronts and I will report more fully on this at the AGM.
Tim Ward, Chair of Trustees said "I have been fortunate to have colleagues on the Board who are working with dedication and commitment to further the interests of VAS, our members and the wider sector. The AGM provides an opportunity to further strengthen the Board. We are particularly keen to recruit Trustees who have expertise in areas such as legal issues, HR and marketing."
VAS Welcomes DisABILITY Experts
We are delighted to welcome Disability Experts Training and Consultancy, headed by Martin and Sheila Kelly, to the VAS offices in John Street.
Martin and Sheila provide a wealth of training, consultancy and other services, all aimed at making life better for people with disabilities. They passionately believe that everyone should have a chance to succeed and that having a disability should not prevent that.
They are now providing their services out of the Palmer Room at VAS, and ran a highly successful Open Day there on Thursday, 29th September.
