One month to go until the EU Referendum
Monday 23 May marked the one month countdown to the EU Referendum. This is one of the biggest political decisions people in this country will make in their lifetimes and it is right that everyone has the opportunity to have their say.
It is important that as many people as possible understand the need to register to vote ahead of the Referendum if they haven’t already.
If you registered to vote in the General or local elections and have not moved house you do not need to register again.
Register to vote by 7 June. It is quick and easy, you just need your National Insurance number to hand, which you can find on your tax return, payslip or P60.
Away on 23 June when the referendum takes place? You can apply to vote by post or proxy (where someone votes on your behalf).
Open consultation: Big Lottery Fund draft directions: England, Isle of Man, UK-wide
The Big Lottery Fund receives 40% of all the good causes money generated through the National Lottery each year. This amounts to around £700m being distributed annually to tackle disadvantage and improve lives throughout the United Kingdom.
Ministers issue all lottery distributors with policy directions, setting out the priorities they must take into account when distributing this money.
Views are being requested on the proposed new policy directions for the Big Lottery Fund in relation to its England and UK-wide funding programmes. Ministers from the Devolved Administrations separately issue the Fund with policy directions for its distribution of lottery money in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, which are not covered by the consultation.
