Phew!  We made it!

Thank you to all our valued clients for another successful tax year!  We were able to complete every tax return that was due to be filed before May 2nd on time.  Our Sole Proprietor clients have until June 15th to file their returns and we have those returns well under control to meet their filing deadline.

It's never too late to start preparing for next year and we've included a link to an informative article about the Medical Expense Tax Credit in this newsletter.  If you're looking for other ways to either reduce the tax you pay or to maximize your pre-tax dollars, we offer tax planning services for individuals, small businesses and for corporations.

BEWARE - The Fraudster!
We're posting this again in this month's newsletter as the fraudsters this year have been relentless.  Clients are calling us almost daily with examples of fraudulent calls they have received asking for a whole host of personal information and in some cases threatening to call the police to have them arrested.

Don't be fooled!  The best way to protect yourself is to become aware of the various scams and understand when and how legitimate Canada Revenue agents may contact you.

It's tax time for Small Business
The deadline for sole proprietors to file their 2015 tax returns is June 15th.  Getting ready can feel insurmountable with the gathering of receipts, understanding the CRA filing requirements and understanding the various eligible deductions.

Once again, our senior partner, Gwyneth James is in the news.  We are so very proud to announce that Gwyneth has been nominated for a 14th Annual Peterborough Examiner, Women in Business Award as well as for a 2nd Annual Judy Heffernan Award!  Both nominations are a testament to Gwyneth's passion and commitment to the betterment of business community in Peterborough and area.

The awards ceremony will take place on June 1st.
