Come out to Cape Canaveral City Hall (100 Polk Avenue) this Thursday at 3:30 p.m. and see what improvements and upgrades are being made around the City to better promote bicycle and pedestrian safety and awareness. Meet and share ideas with your neighbors at this light-hearted event aimed at Community education and togetherness.

Please submit any questions you would like to see answered and we will address them at the talk! This talk will be recorded and posted to the City's YouTube Channel. Hope to see you there!

#SummerOfSpace Mural in Progress

artist rendering of mural of man in space suit, posed in front of earth with satellite and moon in foreground

As the City’s first Summer of Space celebration draws to an end, the inaugural mural project of the Civic Scenery Program is finally becoming a reality. Last week, noted South Florida muralist Anon, commenced work on the impressive 80 ft. by 23 ft. piece titled, “One Giant Leap for Mankind,” on the north wall of the racquetball court building at the Nancy Hanson Recreation Complex.

Paying homage to the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11 and the City’s apodictic connection to the past, present and future of space exploration, this will be Anon’s 16th mural project. Since earning his Bachelors of Fine Arts for Graphic Design from the Art Institute of Jacksonville in 2011, Anon has made a name for himself throughout south Florida, and has participated in numerous public art exhibitions throughout the state.

The mural is scheduled to be completed by August 30th and everyone is invited to come watch the work in progress. The finished piece will be dedicated (7:00 p.m.) at the City of Cape Canaveral’s September 6th  Friday Fest.
