Welcome to the March edition of our newsletter.

We are very much looking forward to the forthcoming show season. Please see the list of events for 2017 below.

Nineteen people enjoyed Sunday lunch on 5th February when we once again visited the Fox and Hounds at Shawbury. We parked our cars together which gave a good photo opportunity, see picture above and also below.

Some members drove to Caernarfon on 19th February for Sunday lunch. See picture below.

Elayne and myself are visiting the National Memorial Arboretum, Croxall Road, Alrewas, Staffordshire DE13 7AR on Wednesday 29th March with a few friends with MX-5s. The idea is to meet up there mid to late morning and have a look around and then lunch. Friends from the Region are very welcome to join us. This is a fascinating place to visit and many improvements have been carried out recently. Entry is free but parking is £3.00 for the day. http://www.thenma.org.uk
Please indicate via email, if you would like to come along waltonbarns@zen.co.uk

Martin has been looking into a possible visit to the Jaguar Land Rover engine plant on the i54 Business Park. Tours are on Wednesdays for up to 9 people (more may be possible). The cost is £39 for adults and £30 for youngsters up to 16, this price includes refreshments. 2nd August is the provisional date, please notify Martin if you are interested. JLR has just revealed its 2018 F-PACE, XF and XE models will be the first fitted with petrol engines from the site. Previously only diesel engines have been built here.

The BBQ will be on Saturday 12th August at 2:00pm at the Old Hand and Diamond Inn, Coedway, Shrewsbury SY5 9AR. The cost is £10 per person for the BBQ, puddings are £4 extra. Contact Martin to book your places or for any further details.

If anybody would like to add something to the newsletter please let me know. Maybe you have changed your car and would like me to include a picture. We now have a "For Sale/wanted" section. Let me know of any cars, parts books, memorabilia etc that you have for sale or wanted.

The JEC has announced the 2017 Charity Prize Draw Car, a stunning 2010 Jaguar 5.0 litre XK Convertible in spectrum blue with warm charcoal leather interior and black hood.

Each year the Jaguar Enthusiasts' Club raises money for important local and national charitable organisations through raffle ticket sales.  This year the prize is an XK Convertible which is exceptionally well equipped with a full service history and supplied by Guy Salmon Jaguar in Northampton.

This year the chosen charity to benefit from the profits of the raffle will be the Prince Philip Trust Fund for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

Tickets cost £2 each or in books of 10 tickets for £20. Tickets will be on sale throughout the year with the draw taking place at the NEC Classic Car Show in Birmingham on Sunday 12th November.  The winning ticket holder does not have to be present at the draw to win.
