SEMINAR - JUNE 18, 2018
A Decarbonized Northeast Electricity Sector
The Value of Regional Integration

On June 18th, from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm, a seminar is organized to present the conclusions and the modeling approach developed in the report A Decarbonized Northeast Electricity Sector: The Value of Regional Integration

Gains from a regional approach could be significant, notably due to the large amount of hydropower and reservoirs in Canada, which could help balance renewable generation options, such as wind and solar power.

Pierre-Olivier Pineau, Chaire de gestion du secteur de l’énergie (coauthor)
François Bouffard, Trottier Institute on Sustainability in Engineering and Design (coauthor)

This event is presented by the Chaire de gestion du secteur de l’énergie, in collaboration with the Institut de l’énergie Trottier and TISED.

The IET is a proud partner of the cooperative city building game: Quartiers d'agora. This is the first game, entirely designed and made in Quebec, where the players have to (re)build cities in Québec and France. Build Alma, Rimouski, Québec, La Tuque, Sherbrooke, Montréal, Gatineau, Rouyn-Noranda, Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Lévis, Joliette, Drummondville and more!

It is a fun learning tool for all ages, with themes such as food, mobility, greening, governance / health / safety, energy, water and waste management.

Available in presale here :
The goal of the presale is to raise $ 45,000 to enable families and schools to play and discuss sustainable development.

The Declaration "Le climat, l'État et nous" was signed by associations representing more than one million Quebecers. It recognizes Quebec's consensus on the need to act on environmental issues and advocates for an effective governance model for this matter.

On our way to the elections, your signature will add weight to the message!

For further information and to endorse the Declaration :

Take the chance to win a $ 1,000 personalized bike by participating in the survey of Quebecers' motivations, misgivings and expectations regarding short-distance carpooling. The development of this survey was made possible thanks to the  collaboration of a PhD student in Civil Engineering - Transportation of Polytechnique Montréal, Jérôme Laviolette.

The survey is conducted by the main short-distance carpooling services in Quebec and the Centres de gestion des déplacements du Québec, Coop Carbone, Équiterre and the David Suzuki Foundation. To fill it out, click here. Duration of about 10 minutes.
