  • Learning Story and Logo Proposal

Thank you to everyone for reading through the information that supports this development. We're currently doing some further research about the how the carving of Tia was donated to our school and the story that came with that. We're also consulting with some local Maori designers to make sure that whatever elements are used in our finalised logo are not going to cause offence to our hapu / community. Once we've completed that process the board will consider the feedback from the different groups and make a final decision in Term 1 2017.

If you haven't read the background information around this proposal, or the thoughts posted online, the link is still live below.

Lake Taupo Yacht Club Learn To Sail Holiday programs
Well done to all the children in years 5 and 6 who tried sailing this week.  There are still spaces available in the holiday programs for 8-12 year olds, no previous experience needed.

Please refer to our website:  (under the Sailing tab at the top) or phone Dean Roe on 07 378  7150  for more information.

After the holiday
program the club runs learn to sail evenings for the children on Monday nights in Term one and four.

If children are interested, we have race night is on Wednesday and several Waipahihi children compete in this regularly.  It is a fun sport that the whole family can be involved in and a great way to enjoy the lake.
Noah and Izaak in the Learning Hub chose to organise a football tournament against Hilltop as their individual learning pathway. Their learning included convincing Hilltop to come, trials, selecting teams, sorting a round robin draw and results table, purchasing spray paint, marking of field, liaising with Caretaker re grounds, writing notices to keep teams informed, organising a ref - thank you to JT Patel, hosting students and teacher and a final "thank you".

Results: Ist = Waipahihi A 2nd = Hilltop B 3rd = Hilltop A 4th Waipahihi B
