On Monday 29 August approximately 30 children from Waipahihi School took part in the Regional Chess competition which was hosted by our school.  Children could enter either the Rookie or Competitive sections.  All children had seven games and certificates and medals were presented at the end.  Some of our students even competed against Taupo Nui a Tia students!
The children in Team Ruapehu really liked the idea of the chess tournament.  We would like to play our own games, but we need your help.  If you have a chess set you would like to donate to us, we would be able to have our own tournament.  Please give your kind donation to your class teacher.  Thank you.
