The team at GEN International is entering a year of uncertainty as we continue to seek solutions for financial sustainability. To stay grounded in the abundance that life is constantly making available to us, we are framing this month's newsletter around gifts and opportunities.

From regenerative education tools, activities, and trainings for the teacher and student in us all, to several opportunities to visit ecovillages around the world, we love having this opportunity to catalyze global conversations. Read on for free downloads and inspiring updates from our projects, regions, and partners.

Tools & Teachings
Twinning Regenerative Educators has officially closed and now we are rejoicing in the abundance of resources!

Over the course of 2022, the Twinning Regenerative Educators project team facilitated 20 educator collaborators to build an international community, establish ‘twin’ partnerships with another school, and co-create three educational resources: a living showcase and toolkit, a teacher training curriculum, and ecovillage principles design cards for children.

Now, we are ready to share the project outcomes with you! Click on the links below to access each tool.

Updates from NEXT GEN

NextGEN Europe is currently raising its 2023 budget. If you want to support the youth sector of GEN Europe, you are warmly invited to contribute to their campaign by making a DONATION to GEN Europe and specifying ''for NextGEN''.

NextGEN Europe has been very active in 2022 and had many new members joining their team. You might have met some NextGEN team members at the GEN gathering in Denmark, where they held several youth-led workshops. NextGEN has always been an important reference point for youth interested in the ecovillage lifestyle, inspiring and informing them as they approach the ecovillage movement and GEN for the first time.

By partnering up with Yes to Sustainability, NextGEN keeps youth informed about volunteering opportunities in ecovillages funded by Erasmus+. You can find out more about NextGEN's work in their 1st annual report

FROM OUR PARTNERS

Capacity Building on Advocacy Campaigning

Join Communities for Future for a 2-day in-person training to connect and build your skills in advocating for community-led local development, taking place in Belgium, on the 14th and 15th of March 2023.

In these times, the capacities, adaptation, and resilience of regenerative communities are essential. Yet they need to become coherent and connected, so local actions can emerge as a powerful social system (an eco-system network) with positive influence at a wider societal and political scale. Communities for Future invites those hungry for change to come together, nourish networks, learn, share experiences, build capacity and co-create an advocacy campaign. If you don’t know what kind of advocacy campaigning is being done in your country for community-led initiatives or you think the current efforts are not enough, do join forces with them!

This training will equip you with:
  • Understanding and integrating advocacy basics
  • Campaigning skills and resources
  • Embed you in a network of peers
The event and travels are fully funded for 20 participants and food costs are covered for 10 additional participants (ideally people from nearby). To apply for your place in this training, please fill out this form before February 13th!

“Planting the seeds of regeneration & change globally”

Our friends at Gaia Education are teaming up with organizations in our networks who are pioneering grassroots change on the ground! Together we can create short courses on topics covering different areas of our 4-Dimensional Curriculum. We’re calling the initiative... Gaia Seeds! Through this network, we aim to continue to support our Community of Practice with the knowledge, tools, and skills to shift towards a more regenerative human society on our precious planet.
