Not happy with your raise?

Didn’t get the salary increase you wanted?
Ask for additional benefits.
 

Ask for creative alternatives if you are not satisfied with the salary increase you received. These might include:
  • extra vacation days
  • flexible hours
  • telecommuting
  • negotiation training (!)
  • desirable future assignments
  • mentoring
  • upgraded equipment
  • tuition reimbursement
  • improved office space
  • anything else of great value to you that is relatively low cost to your company
And, of course, set the stage for future salary negotiations by probing to find out how you can maximize your raise potential.
