Is this the most boring picture ever to lead-off a weekly update?
Only to those who've never sat in our pews!
With the help of a generous gift, we've got new pew cushions,
and you need to come try them out -- they are lovely.

Third Sunday after Pentecost
9:30 a.m. Service of the Lord's Day
10:45 a.m. - Summer Sunday School
Grace to you, and peace...
We received an urgent appeal from our friends at Matthew Twenty-Eight last week, and thanks to your faithful giving we were able to respond by sending emergency funds. Well done, EPC, at providing help where and when you are able.
We gave Pat the Sunday off after her fierce playing at the Hymn Sing. She's back on the organ bench this Sunday (the Third Sunday after Pentecost, for those scoring at home), and we have another special musical treat! Eric Wallace -- who some of you know as our Christmas Eve "Silent Night" guitarist, others know as guitarist for Lee Bains III and the Glory Fires, and most simply know as Liz Ellaby's son -- will be here playing in worship.
I have to tell you that we are having a bit too much fun working through the book of Daniel in our summer Adult Sunday School series. There's no reason not to jump in this week -- no prior reading or attendance is required. (Although reading chapter 3 of Daniel would be very helpful this week!) We are learning the nerdiest things about this text, we're finding modern connections left and right, and there might be a bet going to see how long the class leader can stand still. It's a blast. Y'all should come.
If you haven't heard, our friends at Shades Valley Presbyterian Church have their Farmers Market going strong again this summer -- 3-6 p.m. on Wednesdays.
Speaking of summer and fun, there's more Presbyterian Summer Kickball this week -- Thursday, 5:30 p.m. at Southminster Presbyterian. Last week we learned that Grace Burgess might not be tall, but she's got an incredible vertical leap.
We'll put more info in the July-August Epistle (starting sending in your pics and news!) -- but I want to thank you for responding with such generosity to help send our Senior High Youth to Montreat forthe 2019 Youth Conference. Their trip is coming up, and they wouldn't be going anywhere without you!
