How do you respond to an unkind comment or hurtful action?
The Center for Life Transitions - Respite
It is extremely courageous, and remarkably rewarding, to offer a smile rather than sarcasm and a gentle remark rather than a goring jab.

“It’s not about what happens. It’s about perspective. I may not be able to change what takes place, but I can always choose to change my thinking.”

– Michelle Sedas

At wonderfully hectic times of the year, emotions become heightened and, sometimes, the beautiful moments we’ve anticipated become nightmarish moments of stress and frustration. It is precisely at these moments we are offered the opportunity to grow the most.

Rather than lashing back at an unkind comment or hurtful action, responding with calmness and kindness is the wisest approach, even if all that means is simply remaining silent or walking away. It is extremely courageous, and remarkably rewarding, to offer a smile rather than sarcasm and a gentle remark rather than a goring jab.
