We will be featuring success stories, lessons learned and updates from our partners each month to share how others are working to expand the initiative. This month we are featuring The Council for Economic Opportunities in Greater Cleveland. Here is an update from Creola Rice, Workforce Development Program Manager.
WorkKeys assessments are new to the CEOGC Workforce Development Program but they are rapidly growing in popularity. The testing is available Mondays and Fridays in the CEOGC site for Cuyahoga County residents who have registered online for the morning or afternoon slots.
Individuals eligible for and enrolling in the CEOGC job readiness and job placement services automatically receive an introduction to WorkKeys on the Ohio Means Jobs website. Our instructors ensure that every customer has an account and the option to take the practice test and then schedule for the actual WorkKeys testing at CEOGC. The first introduction to WorkKeys included in a job readiness workshop resulted in 13 people taking the WorkKeys assessments. Moving forward, the plan is to include an introduction and opportunity to take the WorkKeys assessments for those who register in any of the CEOGC Workforce Development training classes.
