Hello Pie Lovers,
Greetings everyone! Happy Friday! I hope you all have been well and happy these many weeks. Since Sweetcie Pie has been on hiatus longer than expected, here is an update to let you know what's been happening.
Long story short, I caught covid and we had to cancel all our wonderful vacation plans. I'll share my experience, because I know some of you are curious. I was vaccinated, with Pfizer, 1st and 2nd booster. No one else in my family caught it. Hubby fed me meals and snacks at the bedroom door for 14 days (I really enjoyed that part.). We suspect I caught it while visiting the hospital when Hubby had a surgery.
Covid was discovered when I went to the ER for sudden and unexplained high blood pressure. They tested for covid as part of their standard procedure. Because of my age and having symptoms, I was offered and accepted the monoclonal antibody infusion. I felt flu-ish for two days, and then recovered like a bad flu in about 8 days. I'm still having weirdly higher blood pressure in the evenings and aerobic activity is more difficult than usual, but both are improving as time goes on. Never lost my sense of smell or taste. (Everyone asks me that question.)
I needed the extra month to regain my stamina for making bread and pie. I'm happy to say that I'm nearly there. Yay! I'm going to be kind to myself this hectic and delicious pie season. Pie pre-order and pick up will be on Fridays only, to start. There will likely be sourdough cookies to coincide with bread pick ups on Tuesdays.
