Hello Pie Lovers,
Summer time for Sweetcie Pie means waking up early to work the pie dough before it gets warm in the kitchen, and visiting farmer's markets for delicious peaches. If you've noticed, I've offered Summer Peach Pie through Fresh Pie Alerts the last week instead of via preorders.
The ripening of peaches is out of my control. Also, not all peaches will ripen nicely. This is why I can't be certain how many peach pies I'll be able to make. I'm sorry I wasn't able to offer more than several pies each time. One of you told me getting a pie felt like winning the lottery.
To make it easier for you to stake your claim, you can now reserve a spot in line to get a Summer Peach Pie. You can easily buy a pie, and at the same time there is some flexibility for me to make the pies according to the peach availability. For example, the peaches this week were not pie worthy. So no peach pies this weekend. (However, the nectarines were super delicious! So look for Nectarine Pie.)
Also, many of you have been loving the extra fresh milled whole grain in the pie crust this month. Unless I hear some strong objections, I will be moving the recipe to 20% whole grain permanently. Yay!
