Owl Games 2016 Randy Dean Blakely, Ph.D
FAU Jupiter will host its 2nd Annual “Owl Games” fundraising event on Feb. 6. from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Registered gamers will compete in the popular, multiplayer videogame, League of Legends, to benefit the non-profit organization Canine Companions for Independence (CCI). Read more here.

Weeks of Welcome Flagler's Chicago
Students were welcomed back to campus life at FAU this week via WOW – Weeks of Welcome. Jupiter campus WOW activities included a marshmallow roast, ice-cream social, crafting and “bubble soccer.” To culminate the WOW series, the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs presents the 2016 MLK Diversity Address, “Advancing the Dream Together,” on Jan. 20, 5-6:30 p.m. in The Burrow, SR Bldg. Synapse 2016 Flagler's Chicago
In collaboration with FAU and Max Planck, Scripps Florida will host the Third Annual Synapse, a networking and scientific exchange event, on Jan. 29 from 4-6p.m. The brightest scientific minds in the region will share their research findings with the local neuroscience community. The event is open to faculty, trainees and other interested parties from the three institutions, as well as other local institutions. Read more here.
Florida Atlantic University, established in 1961, officially opened its doors in 1964 as the fifth public university in Florida. Today, the University, with an annual economic impact of $6.3 billion, serves more than 30,000 undergraduate and graduate students at sites throughout its six-county service region in southeast Florida. FAU’s John D. MacArthur Campus in Jupiter opened in the fall of 1999.  The campus presently enrolls more than 1,500 students and offers a broad range of upper-division and graduate courses. The campus is home to the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College, the Lifelong Learning Society, and research facilities of Scripps Florida and the Max Planck Florida Institute.
