Shelter-in-Place Training
If you were unable to attend the Shelter-in-Place Training on the Jupiter Campus, below are the training sessions on the Boca campus:

Wed, June 22

9 a.m.–10 a.m. in Carole and Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium (Boca)
2 p.m.–3 p.m. in Carole and Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium (Boca)

Please note, there will be another opportunity to attend the Shelter-in-Place training on the Jupiter Campus. The time will be shared when the event is scheduled.

Jupiter Campus Library Receives Bravo Award Richard Gordon
The Jupiter Campus Library team was presented the Bravo Award by the FAU Libraries for their commitment to research, art, scholarly publications and presentations. The award signifies their successful engagement on campus with exciting academic and scholarly activities. "This speaks to Department Head Ethan Allen’s dynamic, motivational leadership which encourages excellence from every single member of the team," said Carol Hixson, Ph.D., dean of the University Libraries.
Keene Lab Presents at Society for Research on Biological Rhythms Meeting Richard Gordon
Alex Keene, Ph.D., associate professor, College of Science, FAU Jupiter, presented his speech, “The Lateral Line Confers Evolutionarily Derived Sleep Loss in the Mexican Cavefish” at the Society for Research on Biological Rhythms 2016 meeting in Palm Harbor, Florida. IBAN student Melissa Slocumb and postdoctoral fellow Bethany Stahl (pictured) presented posters at the meeting.
Honors College Student Volunteers for Summer Bridge Program Richard Gordon
Honors College student Lauren Smiarowski volunteered for The Office of Diversity and Inclusion’s two-day Summer Bridge Program. Volunteers work in the program as part of the Healthcare Careers Outreach Program of the College of Medicine to teach middle school students biomedical sciences. Smiarowski is the only undergraduate student to volunteer in the program.
Florida Atlantic University, established in 1961, officially opened its doors in 1964 as the fifth public university in Florida. Today, the University, with an annual economic impact of $6.3 billion, serves more than 30,000 undergraduate and graduate students at sites throughout its six-county service region in southeast Florida. FAU’s John D. MacArthur Campus in Jupiter opened in the fall of 1999.  The campus presently enrolls more than 1,500 students and offers a broad range of upper-division and graduate courses. The campus is home to the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College, the Lifelong Learning Society, and research facilities of Scripps Florida and the Max Planck Florida Institute.
