FAU Jupiter’s Lifelong Learning Society Presents Renowned Ballet Photographer Steven Caras Richard Gordon
“Staying Power: A Balanchine Dancer’s Story of Survival,” will include the professional and personal milestones and setbacks via compelling, uncensored tales beginning with Caras’ mockridden childhood and struggles with sexuality, to his days as a dancer during the true golden era of dance in America under the leadership of ballet’s towering genius, George Balanchine. Jupiter's LLS will present the lecture by ballet photographer Steven Caras on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017 at 11:15 a.m. in the Lifelong Learning Society complex at FAU’s John D. MacArthur Campus, 5353 Parkside Dr., in Jupiter.
Lanning Contributes Lead Article to Popular Journal Richard Gordon
The Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI) just published a Virtual Issue on the topic "Making Sense of the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election." The lead article in the collection is by Kevin Lanning, Ph.D., professor of psychology at the Honors College. Lanning's article, titled “Democracy, voting, and disenfranchisement in the United States: A social psychological perspective,” focuses on autonomy, engagement, and equality as the defining features of democracy. Academy for Community Inclusion Celebrates Heading into its Second Year Richard Gordon
Academy for Community Inclusion (ACI) students and staff celebrated a successful end of the fall semester with a holiday bowling party and gift exchange. MPFI’s Sunposium 2017 Neural Circuits Research Conference Richard Gordon
Max Planck Florida Institute of Neuroscience is holding its Sunposium conference February 13 – 14 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center, West Palm Beach, Florida. The MPFI Sunposium brings hundreds of the world’s most esteemed neuroscience researchers together to highlight the challenges, latest findings, and advances that address some of the most complex issues at the forefront of understanding neural circuits. Florida Atlantic University’s John D. MacArthur Campus in Jupiter presently enrolls more than 1,500 students and offers a broad range of upper-division and graduate courses. The campus houses the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College and the nation’s largest Lifelong Learning Society. Both the FAU Brain Institute and the FAU Center for Molecular Biology and Biotechnology call the MacArthur campus home, providing cutting edge research infrastructure and educational programs that link to other FAU campuses.
