Dr. Steven Roper, Executive Director of the Peace, Justice and Human Rights Initiative at FAU is holding an open forum on Sept 20, 1 - 3pm, AD 204. Faculty are all welcome and encouraged to attend.
State of the Campus Address

Brain Institute and Seminar Series Kicks Off with Renowned Guest Lecturer Richard Gordon
The FAU Brain Institute celebrated its opening and hosted its first lecture this week on the Boca Raton campus. The featured speaker was Rene Hen, Ph.D., Departments of Neuroscience, Pharmacology and Psychiatry at Columbia University. Hen, a renowned leader in his field, presented a talk titled “Harnessing Hippocampal Neurogenesis to Improve Cognition and Mood” to a full lecture hall. Randy D. Blakely, Ph.D., executive director of the Brain Institute, provided introductory remarks and a reception followed the event. View the full seminar series schedule.
FAU Jupiter’s Huckshorn Arboretum Awarded Level I Accreditation by ArbNet Richard Gordon
The Robert J. Huckshorn Arboretum at Florida Atlantic University’s John D. MacArthur Campus in Jupiter has been awarded a Level I Accreditation by The ArbNet Arboretum Accreditation Program and The Morton Arboretum, for achieving particular standards of professional practices deemed important for arboreta and botanic gardens. FAU Graduate Student Featured on LabTV Richard Gordon
Daniel Wilson was recently interviewed by LabTV about his research involving identifying new ways to see brain cells. Wilson's research involves the pathways of human vision and contributes to using new technology to image brain cells in 3-D. Wilson is part of the International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS) affiliated with FAU. Florida Atlantic University’s John D. MacArthur Campus in Jupiter presently enrolls more than 1,500 students and offers a broad range of upper-division and graduate courses.
