March updates

It's been a couple of months since we took the opportunity to fill you in on what's new around the clinic and with March arriving tomorrow, it felt like a good time to catch you up!  If you haven't had a chance to see our new space, we encourage you to come check it out!  We are comfortably operating on both floors now and are enjoying the expanded space, fresh new look and new additions to our practitioner team.
Our new main floor reception area has a growing dispensary for you to shop from.  We are profiling some of our favorite supplements on these shelves, so come and have a look to see what we recommend for:

  • "greens" powders -> did you know that you can get the equivalent of 8 servings of veggies in just one spoonful of a tasty nutritious powder you can easily toss into your daily smoothie?
  • protein powders -> we sell paleo, bone broth and collagen powders: balance your blood sugar, repair your tissues, strengthen your immune system with the addition of a scoop or two to your health regime.
  • protein bars -> ok?  have you tried our Chocolate Mint dairy-free paleo protein bars?  YUM!
  • great tasting, bone building, muscle relaxing liquid calcium, magnesium + vitamin D supplements
  • immune support products: from capsule to liquid to our *new* gummies - we have what you need to keep your body healthy and strong this spring and beyond
And really, so much more! So come in and take a look!
Last newsletter we introduced you to Ryan SchafferCarissa Ball, Christine Borschneck and Jenine Boser.  It is a huge gift to be able to offer our patients and the public access to massage therapy, somatic experiencing, counseling and reiki, in addition to the high quality of naturopathic medical care that you are accustomed to as a patient of one of our dedicated Naturopathic Doctors Allison Ziegler, Brittany Wolfe, Julie Zepp Rutledge, Marika Geis and Michelle Sthamann.  We continue to expand our team and are excited to introduce you to Lisa Mann!  She will be taking up residence in our clinic starting Monday March 1st!  Read on to find out more about Lisa.
Good day everyone,
My name is Lisa Mann and I’m an RMT. I’ve been practicing massage therapy since 2016 and love helping people to feel better and healthier.
In my off time I love spending time with my family and friends. I currently am enjoying watching my granddaughter grow up and become such a little person with personality and love.
I also relax with snuggling up with my dog who knows when I’ve had a long day and just want to sit.
I am working on my continuing education with taking a warm bamboo course in April, which I will be incorporating into my practice to help get into those deeper muscles that sometimes bother us and we don’t realize it.
I practice primarily relaxation massage with a therapeutic element to it as I can use as much or as little pressure you like.

If you would like to book a massage with me please text 306-537-2435 or send me an email.

Thanks and I can’t wait to meet you!

OZONE THERAPY

As part of our new IV nutrient room, we at Prairie Sky Integrative Health are excited to offer ozone therapy, also known as major autohemotherapy (MAH).

What is Ozone Therapy?

Oxygen is the life-giving nutrient that is essential for every function of the body.  The utilization of oxygen in the body is paramount to how we feel.  As we age, the ability for our body to use oxygen efficiently decreases, causing the cells to be oxygen deprived.  As a result, cell function decreases, and an increased number of free radicals are formed.  The formation of free radicals is responsible for aging and disease production.

Classes & Workshops
Did you know that in latin, doctor translates to docere which means to instruct or teach?  As Naturopathic Doctors we are passionate about educating our patients about all aspects of health.  Information and education equals empowerment so what better way to stimulate the vis, the body's innate capacity for healing, than through putting the power back in your hands?  We teach within our appointments with you, providing you with the information and tools you need to regain your health.  Our commitment is that you know not only the "hows" to healing, but also the "whys".  We also dedicate ourselves to teaching in a more traditional sense, through community classes and workshops.  Here are a few we have on the go right now!
And please don't forget about our weekly blog posts!  This is another great way to stay current with cutting edge health tips, the latest in health trends, recent research and Prairie Sky Clinic news.  Check our website out regularly as new content is always available for you.
Our most recent ND team additions, Brittany Wolfe and Michelle Sthamann, have also been super active on social media lately.  Thanks to Brittany for keeping our Facebook page current and to Michelle for her amazing work on updating Instagram @prairieskyhealth.

MASSAGE THERAPY

During a massage therapy session a Registered Massage Therapist will manipulate the soft tissues of your body. That includes the muscle, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and skin. The massage therapist uses varying degrees of pressure and movement, and could include the use of tools and equipment. The treatment could be dynamic or static and include patient active movement or Therapist controlled movement.

Massage Therapy is generally considered part of integrative medicine. GP’s and other health care professionals are prescribing it more and more as a treatment along with standard treatment. It may be used for a wide range of medical conditions.
Medical professionals may recommend massage therapy to help people cope with the pain and stress of various conditions, such as cancer, heart disease, stomach problems or fibromyalgia. In any case we all could use a massage in these trying times.
Studies of massage benefits have found massage can:
  • Help reduce stress
  • Lessen pain and muscle tension
  • Increase relaxation
  • Improve immune function
  • Shortened recovery time from injury
  • Reduced edema/swelling in legs
  • Plus it feels good, most of the time!
