Summer promos from our newest additions

We are super excited to be expanding more fully into our space, moving new passionate professionals into the building we now fully occupy at 2146 Robinson St., in the heart of the Cathedral Area.  As a little recap, here is a little story of our history in our current location, as this month does signifiy 9 years since we began the initial renovation on the second floor we first called home.

In early 2012, Dr. Marika Geis, Julie Zepp Rutledge and Allison Ziegler all worked together at the Wellness Centre on College Avenue.  Shortly thereafter Dr. Laura Stark joined us, covering Julie's maternity leave and it soon became obvious we needed to expand, as we wanted to keep Laura around when Julie returned from her time away from the office, not to mention we were ready for a change of scenery and upgrade.  That is when we found our treehouse clinic, second floor of our current location, upstairs from The Caring Place.  We operated in this space as The Cathedral Centre for Wellness until 2019 when we decided to go through a rebrand and facelift and became what you now know as Prairie Sky Integrative Health.

Then in the summer of 2020, our downstairs roomies, the folks at the Caring Place, had the opportunity to move their services into a larger facility and left us with a decision: to relocate, rent their floor or take a crack at occupying both floors.  If you have been in to visit us in the last six months you will know we chose the latter and month by month we have had the amazing good fortune to welcome new practitioners to our space, all while continuing to offer you the best quality of Naturopathic Medical Care in Regina.

This month we would like to spotlight our two newest team additions: Elaine Hanson-Loo and Sam Tran.

In June 2021, Elaine Hanson-Loo relocated to Regina and has been working on developing her part-time practice in craniosacral therapy (and so much more!) with us.

Elaine Hanson Loo has spent a lifetime working with the body. As a retired professional contemporary dancer, actor and choreographer, she was engaged in intentional shaping and directing energy of the body; of embracing and utilizing the body’s entire physiology including not only the outer structure but also the inner workings of the breath, fluids and organs. Through that process she learned that movement has a life of its own, that her role as a performer was to get out of the way, honouring the capacities and intentions of movement as expressed through the vehicle of the body.

As a devoted 30+ years practitioner of somatic release work, Elaine endeavoured to release compression biomechanically, aiming to synchronize the balancing forces spiralling through the body. This somatic approach produces the fullest expression of movement and sound unhindered by restrictions held within the body.

Upon retirement, Elaine discovered Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST), recognizing that BCST required listening to the body though in subtler, more refined ways than dance. To work as a practitioner demanded a deep humility, allowing the therapist to become subservient to the inherent desires of a client’s body; that the role of the therapist is not to impose an agenda rather, to sit back and allow the emergence of a client-directed plan otherwise known as an Inherent Treatment Plan.

Sustaining a daily meditation practice for 47 years has allowed Elaine to cultivate a quality of stillness supporting a sense of safety. For a container of safety is the paramount requirement allowing the body to approach, process and ultimately, digest life experience.

Always drawn to the Healing Arts, Elaine has earned her Usui Method of Reiki Level II and certified as a Crystal Light Healer with Universal Life Tools. Additionally, she has trained with the Conscious Dying Institute of Boulder, Colorado as a Sacred Passage Doula. In other words, Elaine views human embodiment – one’s journey from utero to death – as one sweeping arc, deeply informing her beliefs and practices.

Elaine is a Registered Member in good standing with the Biodynamic Craniosacral Association of North America.

For the month of August, up to and including September 2, 2021, Elaine is generously extending a 20% discount on her services to new clients .
