October 2016 Brewsletter
LIBeerGuide hopes you are enjoying Oktoberfest season and that you've been able to attend some of the fun celebrations across Long Island.  In case you haven't, there are plenty more events running through the end of the month, so read on and make sure to check out our special LI Oktoberfest Celebrations page for an event near you.

Another fun way to celebrate the season is to visit craft breweries and beer bars in Riverhead with Brew Crew Cycles, which is offering discounted prices for Sunday tours in October.
Great South Bay Brewery Wins Gold Again in Denver

Congrats to Great South Bay Brewery for taking home a prestigious Gold Medal for the second year in a row at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) held Oct. 6-8 in Denver.  The GABF competition, one of the world's largest, featured 1,600 breweries from across North America competing in 96 beer style categories.  This year, Great South Bay won Gold in the Honey Beer category with Jetty Cream Ale, following up on its 2015 Gold in the Specialty Beer category with Hog Cabin Maple Bacon Porter.  Great South Bay also won a Bronze medal in the Pumpkin Beer category in 2013 with Splashing Pumpkin.

All of these award-winning beers will be available at Great South Bay's Punktoberfest being held at the brewery in Bay Shore on Oct. 22, with general admission from 1:30-5:30 pm and VIP admission beginning at 12:45 pm.
