Assessment and management of hand lacerations and common hand injuries, and new treatments for Dupuytren’s Disease - Flinders and Far North
Thursday 16 June 2016 6.30 to 9.00pm, Standpipe Golf Motor Inn, Port Augusta

This workshop with Dr Isaac Harvey will address simple management of common hand fractures, tendon and nerve injuries of the hand and fingers, and the treatment of Dupuytren’s Disease.

Update on Carpal Tunnel Syndrome - South East

This talk with Dr Danh Tran, Occupational Physician, will address the pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and will discuss the Nerve Conduction Study.

Please join us at the Standpipe Hotel for a talk with Dr John-Charles Hodge. Dr Hodge, an ENT surgeon, will be delivering a talk on Ear Nose and Throat for GPs addressing the medical management of ENT conditions as well as explain the removal of nasal foreign bodies and will show how to perform nasal cauterisation for epistaxis.

Apply now for Trauma Management Program for Registrars, 21-23 September

The Trauma Management Program will be held Wednesday 21 to Friday 23 September 2016. Training will take place at the MedSTAR Training Hangar at Adelaide Airport on the Wednesday and Friday, and at the Royal Adelaide Hospital on the Thursday.

The RDWA in partnership with the Royal Adelaide Hospital’s Trauma Service provides a comprehensive program and an opportunity to learn from a skilled team of trauma management specialists about theoretical and practical approaches to early trauma management and pre-hospital care. The program provides a systematic approach to assessing the trauma patient and increasing knowledge of disaster management to assist in local community planning.

Accredited training in mental health for rural GPs

Black Dog Institute deliver a number of evidence-based mental health programs for rural GPs to gain the skills to accurately treat and detect illness in patients and gain the confidence to approach and treat those that may be considered a suicide risk.

Upcoming Saturday courses in SA include 'Advanced Training in Suicide Prevention' in Adelaide on 25 June and Port Lincoln on 30 July; and 'Dealing with Anxiety Disorders' in Adelaide on 6 August. Visit the Education and training calendar for more information.
