raize the roof is a Canberra based charity. Through volunteers and donations we are building a Charity House in Bonner, ACT. Once auctioned in 2016, the proceeds of the sale of the Charity House will be donated to SOS Children's Villages Botswana to support children orphaned due to HIV/AIDS or at risk of abuse and neglect to access health and education and the Starlight Children's Foundation in Australia to brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families.

The fifth raize the roof Gala ball is a gathering of Canberrans who are changing the world and supporting kids a little less lucky.

Among the glitz and glamour, be entertained and inspired with amazing speakers and uplifting performances.

Early bird tickets are now on sale and the ticket includes canapés on arrival, three course dinner, five hour drinks package plus entertainment at QT Hotel, Canberra. Click below to secure your tickets!

Floored by our progress!

Lincoln Dal Cortivo (Project Manager) recently did the final preparation work for the slab (pictured above), recycling the dirt that was left from the original site cut. This stage could not have been achieved without the help of our generous plumber Peter from Monaro Plumbing and Gas who lent us his bobcat for the day. Thanks Peter!

Once the dirt was placed, leveled and compacted, the slab was treated for termites - a service generously donated by our pest preventing friends at Integrated Pest Services.

From there, our Project Manager and his brother laid the steel sheet mesh and tied it all together. With the creation of some nifty form work to hold the cement in place where there was no edging, it was time for more concrete.

The team from Holcim Canberra donated another $1,500 worth of concrete to ensure the slab could be completed. Blaz and his crew followed this up and finished off the concreting to get it to this stage. Legends!

Miles from ACT Concrete Cutting recently cored through four layers of brick work to make way for our drainage pipes (above right). Thank you Miles!

The team from CTR Pacific Bricklaying once again came through and bricked up the six piers so now we can start the bearers, joists and sheet flooring this coming week.

We are so grateful for the support and assistance on the Charity House to-date.

We would like to welcome our latest Silver Sponsor of the raize the roof Charity House project, Domain Property Group. Here is what they are generously donating:

A free listing on the awesome, plus one national property of the week on the site for the Charity House once it is built and ready to be sold.

A free listing, two weeks priority placement and two weeks premium plus placement.

One dream home feature!

4. Allhomes Liftout

Six (yes that's right - six!) half page ads plus digital inclusion.

They are donating a total of over $11,000 in sponsorship, of which we are incredibly grateful.

Palmerston Possums Playgroup are hosting a fundraising morning tea on 6 May at 9.30am. The Mothers Day Morning Tea and Raffle will raise much needed funds for their playgroup, with 50 per cent of their profits from the event going raize the roof too.
