From My Heart

Rev. Jyoti DeVernie

Greetings Beloveds!  I am delighted that we are finished with the cold nights and I’ve finally been able to get my flowers and veggies planted.  It gives me such joy to pick the colors and shapes and flavors and be reminded of the amazing diversity and beauty of the divine. I also see the beauty of the divine on Sunday mornings when I look out on all your faces and feel your shining light. Being your Senior Minister is such an honor!
Thanks to all who made the potluck at our house so nutritious and delicious and fun.  What a pleasure it always is to have you in our home!  And thanks to all who helped transport tables and chairs since our cars are so small. For any who haven’t stayed for potlucks recently, know that they just keep getting better and better.  Speaking of better and better, haven’t you just loved the guest musicians our Music Director Karen has been bringing in?  Wow, such amazing energy – and I love how much our congregation loves to sing.
You’ll be seeing some new art around the Center to delight and inspire you.  If you’d like to sponsor our new ‘Love Lives Here’ art for the front of the sanctuary, just let me or Rev. Lea know, OK?  New art, new classes, new faces, new ways to connect: so many opportunities here at CSL Boulder Valley.  Lea’s popular meditation class is starting this month and the ‘Art From the Heart’ workshop will be fun and inspiring.  Space is limited, though, so see the sign-up info elsewhere in the newsletter....

I am led, guided and empowered by the Spirit of Life within me, and I am grateful.

God is on the Move!

Great things are happening here at CSLBV and we are listening to Spirit's guidance as to what's next. Visioning is a process of tuning in to Spirit's highest ideal for whatever is being visioned for. And for us, that's our growth and new space.Practitioner Loralei Matisse will lead us in the visioning process on June 16th after service - about 11:45. All are welcome. All are needed. Join us in this deeply powerful process. For more information, call or text Loralei, 720-429-0636.

Third Thursday Spiritual Forum

Fierce Loving and Radical Vulnerability

June 20, 7:00 - 8:30 pm
Center for Spiritual Living Boulder Valley

Humanity faces a profound reckoning, a collective rite of passage that is calling forth our deepest capacities for fierce love and radical vulnerability. In response, the platitudes can come easily: all the things we “should” be doing personally and collectively. And the reactive responses rooted in fear and insecurity come even easier and the big picture gets lost. The most inconvenient truths are seldom aired, deeper discussions are all too rare, and real dialogue among people with different worldviews remains almost unheard of. The good news is we were born for this moment!  We’ve prepared—read the books, heard the sermons, worked on ourselves—and we are ready for the “on the job” training before us! Join transformation guide Scott Brown for an exploration of the ground of clarity, courage, and compassion, where all illusions of separation are burned in a radically loving, relational, and responsive spirituality. Say “Yes to Life! in the Era of Collapse.

Speaker Biography. G. Scott Brown, MA is a visionary peacemaker and life and relationship coach who brings together psychology, spirituality, nature-based healing, and social change. He is the author of Active Peace: A Mindful Path to a Nonviolent World. Scott worked on the front lines of activism for over 15 years with organizations including Greenpeace. Since getting on the healing path he has applied his skills as a restorative justice program coordinator and mediator, a wilderness rites of passage guide, a workshop leader, and as a mentor to youth both in and out of the criminal justice system. He holds a master’s degree from Naropa University in transpersonal psychology and ecopsychology. More information about Scott and his work can be found at

Spiritually Guided Social Uplift Ministry

Let's talk about Religious Diversity and Inclusion
Wednesday June 26, 6:30 pm

The Spiritually Guided Social Uplift Ministry approaches the issues of the day with a spiritual focus that transcends the polarizing political agenda that often discourages thoughtful discussion of important issues. This is a powerful curriculum and the CSLBV discussions will be facilitated by Reverend Jyoti and Practitioner Kelly Robbins. You can contact them for more information. Or, click here to visit the SUM website

The S.U.M. discussions are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month. The discussion on June 26 is the second of two sessions devoted to the topic of Religious Diversity and Inclusion. There is widespread religious intolerance or a propensity for misunderstanding other groups of people who hold different beliefs. For as long as we can remember, religious differences have fueled discrimination, violence and war. Religious intolerance has been encouraged and exploited by governments and special interests to divide people in order to gain power and subvert outcomes, goals more easily acquired when people see the “other” as a threat to their own beliefs. Is religious intolerance like racial tolerance, gender tolerance…? Do we need to agree with what other people believe, or, as humans, extend them the freedom to believe and act as their religion requests? Come and share your thoughts. To help in planning, you are asked to register: click here to let us know you're coming.
