Reverend Jyoti: From My Heart

Greetings Beloveds,
As I write this, Mary and I have just returned from a wonderfully relaxing beach vacation – truly an opportunity to drink in the divine.  I spent hours and hours watching and listening to the gentle waves lapping against the shore.  As I awoke each morning to that sweet sound, I was reminded of the eternality and abundance of the Divine...

'The Lady in the Van' (2015, with subtitles) is our movie this month, an unconventional Mother’s Day story not to be missed. Starring the ever-fabulous Maggie Smith and Alex Jennings.  The Lady in the Van tells the true story of Alan Bennett's strained friendship with Miss Mary Shepherd, an eccentric homeless woman whom Bennett befriended in the 1970s. She was devout, ungrateful, cantankerous, uncompromising – but magnificent. Bennett referred to her as 'vagabond nobility’. She is a complex and endearing creature, child-like in her innocence but fierce in her religious and political beliefs. He eventually allowed her to temporarily park her dilapidated Bedford van in the driveway of his Camden home. She stayed there for 15 years before her death.

Come and enjoy popcorn and inspiration.

Location: The theatre at Affinity Living Community: 860 Baseline Rd - across from King Soopers on Route 7 at Highway 287.  Call Pat Brazee at 303-880-9896 if the door is locked.

Third Thursday Spiritual Forum

'The Source Within'
May 17; 7:00 - 8:30 pm

The universal or macro level of totality is ever-expansive and eternal, encompassing all from the cosmos, to all living beings, to the tiniest particle. The reality in which we find ourselves
tends to be relative or subjective, a micro view of totality. This presentation takes us on a journey from the macro to the micro, revealing a subtle yet highly impactful truth about ourselves, that the source of all is within us as us. It distills a reality that has the power to alter the way we experience ourselves, others, and the world in which we live. Experiential understanding of the Source Within leads us to the realization that we already are that which we seek. It allows us to better support and heal the parts of ourselves that still contract in pain, fear, grief, sadness, uncertainty, or disillusion. It ends the perpetual story that “something is wrong” with ourselves, others, or life. Understanding the Source Within ushers us into a loving, joyful, powerful and peaceful world inside and outside.

Presenter Molly Kate Brown is the award-winning author of Learning to Walk in India: A Love Story. She is a Nurse Practioner, and a Meditation & Mindfulness Coach/Teacher who leads heart-centered workshops and retreats. She also teaches mindfulness at prisons. She has been featured in Science of Mind: Guide for Spiritual Living Magazine. Her second book is in progress. For more information, click here...
